Flower Girls and Fathers

On Saturday C and D were flower girls in Peter and Veronica's wedding. The wedding itself was really fun. Great to see so many friends from business school and just a really, really fun party.
HBS friends, including the groom (why did I think that was a flattering pose? I forget how thick I still am from LBD).

We were really honored that C and D were part of the ceremony. We were also really nervous that they would be total disasters. I think they felt our nervousness. In the end, they were great. They walked down the aisles. In fact the only potential disaster was that the wreaths I had ordered were made with purple flowers not white (somehow we fixed in about 30 minutes).
We struggled a little with pictures---C took a LOT of coaxing to take pictures with the bridal party (Veronica could not have been nicer or more easygoing about it). But when their time came they stepped up to the plate. C and D walked down the aisle in their own styles. C practically ran down the aisle, smiling at Andrew all the way. When she got to the end she high fived Andrew, turned back, looked at D and said "That's my sister walking down the aisle!" D wasn't going to be rushed for anybody. She took her time and was so focused on throwing out her rose petals that she veered off course at the beginning and had to redirect herself a bit. As they walked off in front of the groomsmen (and into the arms of my mom and chris who were--thankfully--wating in the wings) C asked a little too loudly, "Can I have my flower girl present now?" They were awesome and we could not have been prouder of them.

So after a really fun weekend Fathers Day was spent in recovery. Andrew got to sit by himself and watch golf, which was a rare, rare luxury for him. We definitely didn't do as much as we should have for the Big Guy this year. (We promise to make it up to you Bug--you know, in sleepless nights, whiny voices, months without golf, and more. Ahh Fatherhood.)
