When she was born I wanted a boy. When she was an infant I wanted things to be a little easier. And now all I want is YaYa Boo.
- You weigh 28 lbs (50th %) and you are 34.5 inches (75th%)
- You still love "ruh ruhs" although you have calmed down a bit about them.
- You speak, a lot. At 18 months we were worried, at 20 months we called you cromagnon, and somewhere around 22 months you started speaking--in complete sentences (well, 2 year old complete sentences). It has been really fun to watch you become this little person.
- You understand Spanish. No joke. And you have about 10 Spanish words, including "agua", "mas fuerte!" (on the swings your go to words), "gracias," "de nada," "dos minutos" (as in "can I scooter for dos minutos?"), "arriba," "gato," "perro" and "oso de peluche" (teddy bear). You also like to know what a word is in spanish, and you'll say "What vilda call this?"
- Your favorite color is yellow. Whenever you see something yellow (like a taxi) you point and yell "My favorite!"
- You will occasionally say "Oh my God!" I am trying to change that to "Oh my Goodness!" because it is my fault you say it in the first place.
- If something bad happens you will stop and say "It's ok."
- You have something you like to call "your funny face" where you scrunch your arms up close to you and scrunch all your facial muscles together.
- When you don't like something you sometimes shape your mouth like an oh, scrunch it up and say slowly "Nooooooo."
- You LOVE to swim. You are actually pretty good at it too. You figured out holding your breath pretty early and now you are working on "scooping the ice cream" and kicking your legs. You look at the kids who are happy in class with confusion.
- Like your sisters before you, Elmo is your homeboy, although you only sit through about 5 minutes of elmo's world. You also like to watch the intro songs to Caillou, Word World, and Berenstein Bears although you will then happily take yourself out of the game, saying "Ny Night" to your sisters and then giving them "Big Hugs" and a kiss before heading out.
- First thing in the morning you want "vitas" (vitamins).
- Your hair is CRAZY. We feel a little bad for giving it to you and we think you'll probably be 5 before you get a haircut. We have started to put your hair up in pony tails, and if we ask you who you look like you say "Abby Cadabby!
- When you are tired or need comforting your favorite thing is to suck your thumb with your left hand and pinch your neck with your right hand.
- You have giant, fat feet. You will be the same shoe size as C and D in a few years.
- When you run you run pumping one arm back and forth with vigor.
- You love wearing rain boots.
- You are a toughy. You'll pick yourself up and brush yourself off more often than not.
- You are sensitive to noise. Where as your sister Dylan likes everything to be blasting out her ear drum, you are constantly telling me that the music or the white noise machine is "too loud." Likewise, the overhead in your room is always "too bright."
- You love to read "Clap your Hands."
- If we ask you how old you are now, you say "Two on Christmas."
- You like time outs. They must make you feel like a big girl. If I threaten one you'll do the deed again, look at me fiercely and say "I wanna time out"
- You love 'babies." You think they are your little toys and you occasionally try to take the real ones at the park home with you.
- I am embarrassed to admit this, but some of your earliest words included "ipad" and "barbucks!" (as in "I want 'nilla milk at Barbucks!")
- You like "dickers" (stickers)
- You can plow through a box of bandaids in minutes.
- You want to be your sisters. You are pretty coordinated, which is good, because if they do it, you do it. You quietly watch their swim classes and then move your arms in a freestyle motion like you see them doing in the water.
- You are not a fabulous eater. I HAVE to give you the vegetables first or it is a no go, and even then you sometimes fight me on them. You love vanilla milk from starbucks too much, and you like desserts too much.
- At bedtime at night you want to give everyone "big hugs." But you often want us to beg for it. You will stand in front of C and D, refuse to give hugs, and then yell "Cwy Dywan, Cwy!" "Cwy Charwotte Cwy!" It cracks me up and C and D are good sports to go along with it.
- You generally suck at napping. Which sort of sucks for me.
- You are extremely, extremely lucky to have sisters who adore you. They fight over who can run into your room first in the morning. They tell you all the time that "you were the loviest Christmas present I ever did get." As younger siblings ourselves, Andrew and I are constantly touched by how kind they are to you.
- You are one heck of a little scooterer. You drag your feet around turns to slow yourself down and you love going fast. Only problem is you usually don't listen to me yelling behind you to slow down.
- I love when you get scared by a loud noise because you jump onto my back and breathe heavily into my ear. I could sit there like that all day and wish I could bottle the moment forever.
- I have all these songs about Christmas that make me think of you. If I ever get my act together I will make you a video (maybe Xmas in June??!)
- You are often the best part of my day.
