All Quiet on the Blog Front

I have 9 posts for this month, all saved as draft, most with no more than 2 words in them. To finish them now would not make it obvious that we have been in a world of hurt this month. So I'll just post them all in next few weeks, out of order. For now, random thoughts from this past month:

--Moving with a 3 week old is insanity. Not that I needed to tell you that. It is like I'm acting out my own version of "Jackass: the Parenting Edition." You might even throw having a kid on Xmas into the movie.
--Those signs about "Speed Checked by Radar" on the GG Bridge mean aren't just there for decoration. 77 in a 45. OUCH.
--Having one baby at a time, no matter how gassy (and she is GASSY) is a joke. It is like giving birth to a handbag. You can take it anywhere pretty easily. And you can outlast it--even a baby needs to sleep sometime. Twins can tag team and you'll never sleep. Thank god I didn't know how hard twins were or I would have skipped town long ago.
--For the record, twins are harder ALL the time. L is a breeze, even with multiple wakings, compared to the tour de force that C and D comprise. One of the biggest emotions I have had for the past 5 weeks is a "why me?" issue about having had twins. Of course I adore them, but they EXHAUST me. I look back at my posts about wanting twins again and I wonder who that insane woman was.
--That being said, it is already obvious to me that we have a really tough dynamic. It will always be 2 and 1. I think L might need a buddy someday (but I didn't say that outloud, at least not for a while, that is, if I want my husband to talk to me ever again.)
--I am not the milk goddess I once was. Forgetting to eat and no sleep may be to blame.
--Now I know why my sister Ro had entire albums of her childhood, I had a few pages, and my brother Daniel had one picture at birth and one at his first communion.
--Having someone come in to take photographs of your family a few days after you move is idiotic (Again, "Jackass: The Parenting Edition"). But at least I can say I have a few pics of Lila as an infant. Here are a few pics, more to come though most are so "real" they are funny. Gotta love the 'box background.'
--Don't ever move. Ever. And don't ever buy anything again. It isn't worth packing.
--I am sorry I haven't responded to your nice emails and facebook posts. I'm sorry I haven't seen you since December. And by 'you' I mean everyone I know. Literally. I've had to basically focus on the basics and it means being basically rude and impolite. February is going to be all about getting back to people and hoping they are speaking to me because they are so nice and I have not been responding to anything. Unfortunately, I had an inauspicious start. My first attempt at doing anything with anyone socially led to a speeding ticket (see above) because of course it took us forever just to get out of the house.

I am determined to catch up on posts, it's just that lately between sleeping and posting, I have chosen sleep.
