So I never thought of myself as a blogger...

and I'm still not sure this is going to work out, but I would like to record some of my thoughts as a new mother and thought this might be a nice way to do it. I have been keeping a journal but I think this might prove easier and more fun. Not that anyone will actually read this, but if you are reading this please note that my main objective is to keep a journal that will help me record the early lives of my girls and my experiences with them. I hope to still keep a private journal for them, but I thought this might be a nice way to let others take a peek at the girls growing up.

So here goes. Tonight I went to the mother of twins consignment sale with Serena. There were several sets of REALLY tiny twins--I mean d & c circa 6 weeks old. And crazily enough, I almost missed the girls being that little! I know that doesn't make any sense, because one of these babies was so tiny I'm convinced they hijacked her from the NICU, and it isn't as if things have gone by 'so quickly' with the girls--I mean the 5 weeks in the NICU is like a blurry eternity. But part of me has a hard time remembering them so small, maybe because it was such a stressful time it appears as a blur in my memory. It is just that if I have a hard time remembering them that little, and it was less than three months ago, what is going to happen when I am trying to remember years back? Or maybe it is just my constant fear that things go by too quickly with twins because you are trying to experience two babies instead of just one. You know how you look back on your wedding day and most of it is a blur? Is that what life with your children is like? Is it just so amazing at times that you cannot truly capture it in your brain? Or is that just the haze of lack of sleep (it is, after all, 3:30 am and I am pumping. One of the few times I can sit at a computer uninterrupted)?

Today I caught Charlotte licking Dylan's hand. Guess it tasted like milk! Probably not a good thing for c, given that both c & d seem to now collect fuzz in their hands. I have to pry open their little hands and pull out little rolls of fuzz that have gotten stuck in the crevices. Absolutely adorable.
