Girls Trip

We went to Utah again this past weekend. At the last minute Andrew had to take a later flight and so it was just me and the girls. So the three dodson girls had a little adventure, and actually it wasn't that bad. It was such a short flight there wasn't much time for things to go really wrong, i kept them in their car seats so they couldn't squirm about, and I just figured that it was "an emergency" and that meant I could give them as many cheerios and raisins as they needed. (i know, don't i just seem to make the rules that perfectly fit MY life at just that moment?: )) If anything, I started to get annoyed when people kept saying to me "you're flying with them ALONE?" I started to feel like "what, why wouldn't I want to hang out with these cute little girls?" I sometimes think that our generation has become a bunch of parenting wimps. I mean my mother did a LOT of things with four kids and never had any help.

But anyway, we got there just fine and had a great weekend. My skiing is in very poor shape and the snow was only mediocre but it is alway fun to go to Deer Valley. The girls had a great time with Gram and Sam and were very, very proud of themselves when we took them out to dinner. (Although Charlotte sort of thought everyone was just walking through her kitchen and so was of course there for her entertainment).
The flight home was actually much worse for several reasons. For one thing, there were nine year old identical twin girls on the flight who were obsessed with babies. It made me so happy to see two sisters who seemed to get along so well. But then when I asked one of them what was the best part about being twins she said "Oh we HATE being twins! We had to wear the same clothes until recently..people always get us confused...she pulls my hair..." It TOTALLY crushed me and I will never stop worrying about how to find a balance between all the great things about being twins and all the bad things. ugh.
ps. Here are c and d in their new valentine's outfits from Gram and Sam, with Gram and Sam!
