Not the best start to a new decade. After enjoying my cousin Teresa's wedding last night, we spent NYD in the emergency room with Lila. While she seemed to be ok on Dec 31st, by January 1st she was throwing up again and just got so dehydrated I made the very short walk to the pediatric emergency room. The poor thing was listless and her soft spot was so sunken it was scary. And they could not find a vein in either hand, and watching them poke around with a needle under her skin while she wimpered in defeat was almost unbearable. But she took some kind of wonder drug that enabled her to start keeping liquid down, and here she is looking a lot more chipper after two apple juice containers (and much more svelte).
May this be the last time the little monkey is in the hospital this decade : ).
Oh, and Andrew met us at the ER but had to leave because he started getting sick too. So our "little escape" from C and D has turned into nothing more than a sick ward (though still so much better not to have them here sick too!!)
