LBD at 2.5

  • You are 36 + inches and still chunky, though the belly has really slimmed out.  I miss it.
  • You are adamant that "I not baby. I BIG girl."  When angry, the meanest thing you know to say is "Mommy, you a TODDLER."
  • Your favorite flavor is "banilla."
  • Your favorite songs are "Dynamite," "I Won't Let you Choke (The Cave)" and "Can't Go Home" (Who Says You Can't Go Home).  You are a goofy dancer--you scrunch up your face, puff out your lips, and swivel your little hips around and almost stick your bum out to the side.  It is awesome.
  • You give big, teeth baring/gum revealing, shut eye grins, just like your father.
  • Lots of things "hurt your feelings.'  Recently you rode a baby roller coaster with my mom and afterwards you cried and yelled that that "roller coaster hurt my feelings!"
  • Your favorite color is still yellow.
  • You kiss like a fish--big, sucked in lips.
  • Your hair is CRAZY.  Never been cut.  It gets curlier and curlier every day.  I am worried you will hate it someday, but it sure is cute in piggies.
  • You can scooter like a 5 year old.  You were ruining your shoes stopping though, but all I had to say was "Hey Lila, see that thing above the wheel in the back? That's the big girl break.  Use that."  And you did immediately.
  • In general, you seem very capable physically.  You have great balance, you can swim underwater 10 feet, and now you just need to get the mechanics of "up faces" down (you can get your head up but you don't always remember to get air when you come up).  You also seem to have decent hand eye coordination.
  • Finally, I can't not mention this...when you are tired one hand goes to your mouth so you can suck your thumb, and your other hand goes either to your neck to pull at it, or it makes an attempt to go down my shirt.  It started when you were about 15 months old and no matter how many times I say no, you don't stop trying.
  • If you don't want to do something, and especially if are afraid of something, you will tell me "I do it tomorrow."
  • When you want something, you hold up your little finger and beg "Just one more" or "Just one minute. Pleeeease?"
  • The big girls went to a camp for 4 days that was from 9-3pm --twice as many hours as they had ever spent before at a camp/school.  You missed your sisters so much those days that when we picked them up, you just kept touching their faces you were so happy to see them.   Right around that time you introduced us to your first imaginary friend.  She began as "Pala" ...said almost with a Spanish accent.  It became "Paula," mostly because I think I pronounced it that way.  You were going to Paula's house, or seeing her at the park.  But then one day you decided you had two friends-- "Big Paula" and "Little Paula."  And when we asked you their ages it was "Big Paula is 3 and a half" and "Little Paula is 5 and a half." Sometimes Big Paula and Little Paula live in Carmel and sometimes they live at the "parque".  I never tire of asking you about Big Paula and Little Paula.
  • YOU LOVE SUGAR.  It is a problem.
  • YOU LOVE THE IPHONE.  ALSO A PROBLEM.
  • You are a goof, and we wouldn't want you any other way.
