Rocky Mountain High

This past week we went to Colorado for a Team Dodson Houston and Team Dodson California get together. It was mostly full of highs. We went to the Broadmoor which proved a great place for a family get together. Lots to do but all close by. There was swimming, horseback riding, a trip to the zoo to pet giraffes, a long train ride to Pike's Peak, more swimming, and even some golfing. D did take a pretty big spill but continued to be the 'toughest tiny on the block.'

Lila, while a little bit brutal in the sleep arena, was thrilled by all the attention she got from her cousins. Hayes and Ainsley were really excited to play with her, and she just loved it. C even took notice, kinda like "maybe she is kind of cool" and occasionally felt the need to step in if she saw Ainsley being too nice to her. : )

The only real low was me. I got sick--for me, really sick. I was so achy two of the mornings I couldn't get out of bed for a few hours. It is bad enough to be sick, worse to be sick on vacation, and downright impossible to be a sick mom on vacation. Luckily I slammed enough advil to get through most of the day, but I felt bad because it made me kind of worthless several mornings.

All in, a great family get together. C asked me this morning when she could have a 'playdate' with Hayes and Ainsley. : )
